Enjoy One of the Biggest 4th of July Celebrations in the Area!
The Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department would like to extend an invitation to all Veterans to the Naval Station Great Lakes to be a part of the 2019 4th of July Celebration from 3 to 10 p.m. Thurs., July 4 at the historic Ross Field.
Veterans are encouraged to stop at the VFW Auxiliary District 5 booth to receive a special Celebrating Service name tag and to register as an official guest of the festival.
On July 4, a full music line up on the Rock, White & Blue main stage will feature national, regional and local bands performing throughout the day. This year’s headliner is 38 SPECIAL, treating concert-goers to their masterful performance and riveting music.
In addition, there will be thrilling midway games; as well as an abundance of delicious festival food and refreshing beverages (from local area vendors). Children of all ages will have plenty to do in the award-winning Kids Zone, featuring tons of exciting "hands on” activities; a petting zoo, an indoor rock wall, as well as live entertainment acts.
Festival-goers also will enjoy bingo for prizes, a paintball arena, military exhibits; plus roving performers and costumed characters that will be on site working the crowds!
The night concludes with a spectacular firework display that will be choreographed to music. Visitors are promised a "must see” fireworks extravaganza that will begin at 9:30 p.m.
The Naval Station Great Lakes is located off of Sheridan Road.
The festival offers free parking and no admission charge. Join in and celebrate our freedom and patriotism at this, fun-for-all-ages, open-to-the-public, celebration July 4.
